Gerry Mckay a web designer from Glasgow has created two Adidas Superstars concept based on social networks. Adidas Superstars sneakers were wildly popular about 13 years ago, but they are still selling well. There are even versions that comes with markers so that you can color or write on them.
Gerry Mckay took the idea a whole step further by designing a Twitter and Facebook special edition of Superstars. Both version have a complete style guide with colors, fonts, laces, logo and slogans. If you are an Adidas fan and like Twitter or Facebook these concept photos will leave you wanting one.
This is small project which i was recently working on which brings together Adidas and Twitter.
2006 was the 35th anniversary of the Adidas Superstar and to coincide with that Adidas released a collection of limited edition trainers. Twitter as a brand is increasingly on the rise and i thought it would be interesting to see what it would look like if Adidas also released a limited edition Twitter Superstar, so i worked on my own design of the shoe and this is what i came up with.
Colours
The colours used on the shoe are based on the Twitter branding so that it becomes instantly recognisable
Laces
Coloured laces have been used to give the shoe a more visual lift. While laces on this design may have caused the design to look too bland
Twitter 'bird' logo
Instead of using the familiar text logo, the 'bird' logo has been used instead as more of a visual element

The tongue of the shoe is coloured in the Facebook branded blue with the Adidas Originals logo and the facebook logo below which displays the project partnership
